Children learn French in a fun, educational and enjoyable way by the use of role play, games, stories and songs.
I would teach children through the four skills of speaking, listening, writing and reading.
Pupils should be able to:
The earlier children are exposed to foreign languages, the easier it is for them to assimilate the new language.
I make the learning fun and I place more emphasis on lots of games, stories and singing.
Dorothee has been teaching our three children for the last year. We have been really impressed with Dorothee as she is very professional, co-operative, flexible, kind and a native French speaker which was our main requirement.
Our children really enjoy their lessons with her. She keeps the lessons interesting by using a variety of different resource and techniques. We would highly recommend Dorothee.

Dorothée has been teaching our son French at GCSE for 8 months. Dorothée has a very professional and enthusiastic approach to teaching. Dorothée is a natural French speaker, which was a key attribute we required when looking for a tutor. She discusses and agrees teaching objectives, and works with the student to achieve those goals, whilst building a good relationship with the student. We saw the improvement in our sons French very soon after starting with her – after only 3 months with Dorothée our son was chosen to study for the “Foreign Language Leader Award”, and after 4 months he was moved up to the top study group. Dorothée is not only flexible in meeting the client’s needs but in the same vein also keeps commitments. We would highly recommend Dorothée for French tutoring. Ivor, from Purley
I am really enjoying my lessons with Dorothee. I started my lessons in order to improve my spoken French but wanted it to be enjoyable at the end of a day's work rather than an additional stress to an already busy life. Dorothee took this on board and tailored the lessons according. She uses a variety of different materials and formats. Whilst she is always well prepared for the lessons she is also very willing to be flexible. If you get talking about something of interest she will be happy to continue with the conversation and not be concerned about the lesson plan. I always look forward to my lessons and I have certainly gained in confidence. I would be happy to recommend her without hesitation.

I would just like to thank you for all the work you have done in helping Dan with his French. I was especially thankful for your extra help given at very short notice with Dan’s controlled assessment. French is not his favourite subject but you are obviously doing something right because he goes to you every Thursday come rain or shine and never moans or tries to get out of it.

Dorothée has been a brilliant tutor who has built my son’s confidence in French over the last 2 years. My son has enjoyed French and found his conversing skills extremely useful during his French exchange. Dorothée is a consistent, encouraging and reliable tutor who is flexible and able to adapt her style to the needs of my son. Overall my son loves Dorothée’s lesson and awaits his sessions with her.

Yes we definitely want to continue and the girls are making great progress. Dorothee is fantastic. She mixes up the lessons so the girls don’t get bored and is very good at focussing on each of them and setting work that is appropriate for their ages. Jessica, from Croydon (Feedback via an Agency)
My son got an A in French, thank you for all your hard work with him. Carol, from Purley
